Alocasia California

Alocasia odora

Upright Elephant Ear

This attractive tropical plant (originally native to East and Southeast Asia) is perfect for a summer patio or as a statement piece in indoor spaces. It is a fast-growing plant, prized for its large leaves and upright growing habit compared to other Alocasias—more suitable for indoor spaces. This plant can grow above 3ft/1m tall, so make sure it has room to grow.

This plant goes by other names including Giant Taro, and Night-Scented Lily (due to its scented blooms, which mature plants may bear in late spring though summer).
