Bold Blooms

Gerbera daisies are fast becoming a staple in the floral industry. With lots of fun colours and many different bloom types theres one for every occasion and personality.

But did you know that according to a NASA clean air study, the Gerbera Daisy in one the best natural air purifiers around? This eye-catching flower can help remove harmful pollutants, like formaldehyde, benzene and trichloroethylene from the air!

Care Tip:

Each gerbera bloom only lasts approximately 2-3 weeks. Once the bloom has been spent, the centre of the bloom will turn from green or black to yellow. You can remove the spent blooms with a sterile knife or scissors, and this will encourage the plant to keep pushing new buds, rather than develop seeds in the flower. It is not guaranteed to keep continuously blooming if you do this, but it will increase the chances. The daylength (hours of sunlight per day) is also important for getting gerbera plants to flower, as generally a shorter day will induce flowering.
